Red Rock’s commissioning team is currently in Shandong, China, carrying out commissioning activities at the Huanghai Shipbuilding facility. Currently under construction the 116-metre-long passenger-freighter vessel will cruise French Polynesia from 2027, carrying cargo and just under 200 guests on itineraries to the Austral Islands and beyond.

The project involves an offshore crane with a lifting capacity of 35 tonnes, installed onboard the vessel Aranoa, owned by Aranui. The crane is designed to support demanding offshore container operations, where reliability, precision, and performance are essential.

The commissioning phase is a critical step in ensuring that the crane system performs according to specifications and is fully prepared for operational use. Red Rock’s experienced team is working closely with the yard and vessel representatives to complete testing, verification, and final adjustments prior to handover and operation.

“We are pleased to be on site in Shandong supporting this important phase of the project,” says Ole Andreas Sørensen, Head of Service at Red Rock. “Close collaboration during commissioning is key to ensuring a safe and efficient start of operations for the vessel.”

Red Rock looks forward to completing the commissioning and supporting the vessel through its operational lifecycle.
